Black seed was among the items found in the tomb of Tutankhamun, around 1323 BCE. In Isaiah 28, the prophet describes a farmer threshing a seed many scholars identify as Nigella sativa, so delicate it is beaten out with a stick. It is also honored in Islamic tradition, in the Hadith.
In Turkey today it's simply çörek otu, scattered over warm bread every morning. The guide tells the full story.
This is what ancient texts and traditions say, not what we promise.
